Southern Aluminum Adds Key Executives to Accelerate Rapid Growth

Southern Aluminum announced that it has appointed two new executives in response to the company’s continued growth. Dave Merwitz joins as Chief Operating Officer and John Menghini will serve as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Merwitz brings a wealth of executive operational experience to Southern Aluminum. He most recently served as Vice President of Operations for Confluence Outdoors where he drove significant improvement in all aspects of the business. Prior to that, Merwitz served as General Manager of Novaria Group, a leading supplier of fasteners to the aerospace and defense industries. He has also held senior leadership positions with MacLean-Fogg Component Solutions, Honeywell, Guilford Textiles, and Piston Automotive. Throughout his career, Merwitz has empowered his teams to ensure a relentless focus on continuous improvement. Prior to joining the civilian workforce, Merwitz served 8 years active duty as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.

With over 20 years of sales and sales management experience, John Menghini joins Southern Aluminum from Towne Park where he served as Vice President of Hospitality National Accounts. In that position, Menghini was responsible for managing national relationships with many of the hotel industry’s largest owners and operators. Prior to that, he served as Regional Vice President and as National Sales Manager for Towne Park. Menghini previously spent 8 years with Veritas Partners, a private equity firm with investments in manufacturing and real estate. Menghini will work from the company’s new Kansas City office where he will focus on expanding the national sales team and developing deeper strategic relationships.
