With a legacy of more than four decades, Southern Aluminum has been at the forefront of innovation, redefining the furniture industry and shaping the future of our community. From our humble beginnings in 1978 to becoming a trusted leader in linenless furniture, our story is one of vision, resilience, and purpose.

Charlie Taylor, our founder, believed in creating products that were not only stronger and more durable but also sustainable. “Aluminum is infinitely recyclable,” he once said, underscoring the importance of innovation with conscience. This ethos continues to guide us as we push the boundaries of what’s possible.
“We stand firm in our core values, putting people first, acting with integrity, and innovating with purpose,” says Chief Brand Officer Andrew Moffett.
At Southern Aluminum, we don’t just make furniture—we craft solutions. “We stand firm in our core values, putting people first, acting with integrity, and innovating with purpose,” says Chief Brand Officer Andrew Moffett. These principles fuel our drive to create products that meet the needs of today while anticipating the demands of tomorrow. “We’ve got many products that continue to be successful, but maybe they can be better or maybe that customer needs something they don’t even know they need yet.” Moffett adds, “We have a lot of fun getting in the trenches, not just with our own teams and our own people, but with the customer.”
Our commitment to people extends beyond our customers to our team and community. Since 1978, we’ve grown from a small operation into a team of over 200 dedicated employees. “Our company and culture are all about our people,” shares Accounting Director Cheri Myers, who has been at Southern Aluminum for 35 years. “This growth isn’t just about Southern Aluminum; it’s about lifting our
entire community.” Every product we craft is 100% made in the USA, by people who live and raise their families in the very communities we aim to enrich.
“Dance with who brought you” – Charlie Taylor, Founder of Southern Aluminum
The heart of our success lies in staying true to the values that have defined us from the start. “Charlie Taylor had a saying, ‘Dance with who brought you,’” recalls CEO Allison Schultz. “It’s about loyalty—to our roots, to our team, and to the principles that make us who we are.” Looking to the future, Allison emphasizes, “Being the leader is a challenge, but it’s one we embrace. We’re focused on leading the pack for the next five, ten, and even fifty years.”
As we continue to grow and innovate, Southern Aluminum remains committed to excellence. Every step we take is rooted in the belief that we can elevate lives—whether through the products we design or the community we support. Our journey is far from over, and with every milestone, we reaffirm our promise to lead with purpose, integrity, and a passion for making a difference.
“Being the leader is a challenge, but it’s one we embrace. We’re focused on leading the pack for the next five, ten, and even fifty years.”
Southern Aluminum isn’t just a company—it’s a legacy. A legacy of innovation, sustainability, and an unwavering commitment to the people who make it all possible. Together, we’re building a future that’s as strong and enduring as the aluminum we work with every day.
